This week our children started Chinese New Year celebrations by making lanterns and then dancing dragons.
At circle time, we had a dragon dance together and we learnt how to say “happy new year” in Chinese, which is “guo nian hao”!
Next we had Hong Bao – the red envelopes from Rebecca as a New Year gift which bring fortune to the children! We had so much fun!
It was a good opportunity for our Chinese children to value their identity and for all children to recognise and learn about another culture.
